About Edgardo Ibarra:

Eddie started his professional dive career in 2004 at Bocas Water Sports in Bocas del Toro, Panama as a PADI Divemaster. He continued his education in Costa Rica, Honduras, Colombia and Brazil and became a PADI Master Instructor in 2008. Since then Eddie has been  the Diving Operations Manager at Starfleet Scuba, a PADI 5 Star Instructor Develompent Center  in Bocas del Toro. To further his career, he decided in 2010 to found GoProPanama, a training facility for passionate and  highly motivated dive professionals.

About Tony Sanders:

Tony Sanders is the owner of Starfleet Scuba in Bocas Del Toro.  Tony is an IDC staff instructor with many years of experience.  His knowledge of all dive related information is hard pressed to be surpassed.  Tony's teaching stlyes and relaxed nature helps all of his students aquire the appropriate amunition to make the IE a breeze.

About Bocas del Toro, Isla Colon

Climate:

Average temperature: 27 degrees Centigrades or 82 degrees Farenheit. The Rainy season is from May to August and from November to January. The Dry season is from February to April and September through October.

Language:

The official language of Panama is Spanish but English is widely spoken in Bocas del Toro.

Currency:

U.S. Dollars is the currency in Panama.

How to get here from Panama City

By Car:

Take the Interamerican Highway up to entrance to Gualaca (404 Km). Turn to the right and go to the end of the road to Chiriqui Grande (98 Km) and then at Punta Peña, take the road to Almirante (68 km), where you can leave your car in a parking lot.

By Bus:

Take the bus to Almirante at the Panama Terminal.

From Almirante:

Once in Almirante, take a marine taxi to Bocas del Toro ($4 - 30 min). The ferry boat from Almirante to Bocas del Toro only runs Monday through Saturday ($1 - 1 hour).

How to get here from San Jose / Costa Rica

By Car:

Cross the border in Sixaola, then drive to Almirante (35 Km) where you can leave your car in a parking lot ($2 -3 per day).

By Bus:

Take the bus to Changuinola at the Caribbean Terminal in San José. From there take a bus or a taxi to Almirante.

How to get here by Plane

Bocas del Toro city is served by AEROPERLAS, AIR PANAMA and NATURE AIR, with flights to and from Panama City, David, Changuinola and San José (Costa Rica).
